A career in real estate is very rewarding and can be very lucrative if you are willing to put the time and effort necessary into growing your business. However, getting started can be a little overwhelming so we’ve compiled this page to serve as a resource for those wishing to get started in a real estate career. You’ll find information on the education requirements, licensure process, and the most frequently asked questions.

  • Register for the state-required 63-hour pre-license course with a state permitted school. OneBlue Real Estate School is a fully permitted real estate school by the Florida Real Estate Commission.
  • Once you've registered for a pre-license class, then you will apply for your real estate license with the Department of Business and Professional Education (aka the DBPR). You can find the application at MyFloridaLicense.com.
  • Once you've pass the pre-license class and the state has approved your application, you can register for and sit for the state exam.

Before starting on your journey to success as a real estate agent, it is important that you meet the minimum qualifications to be approved for your real estate license. Here are the current requirements: 

  • Must be 18-years of age or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid social security number.
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Submit license application on MyFloridaLicense.com
  • Complete a 63-hour pre-license education class
  • Register for and pass the state real estate exam
